THAT’S Why It’s Called a Rough Draft?!

5 Jul

Late last night, after getting home from watching fireworks, G and I were flipping through the TV channels.  We came across a description of a Skinemax–er, Cinemax–movie that read: “A successful musician struggles with writer’s block.”

That’s right, folks: writer’s block is now the subject of porn. Guess we’ll all be starring in the skin trade soon. ;)

  • I had another good weigh-in yesterday.  I lost a pound, and I lost an inch from my bust and half an inch from my hips. The place where I’m losing the most slowly is my waist; my clothes keep getting looser around my waist, but the tape measure doesn’t move. Not sure what that’s about.
  • Even though the clothes are getting looser, I’m still not losing as much from my waist. My body shape is going from that of a pear to a vase.  I am debating scheduling a work-out with a personal trainer (I get one free session a year) to see if there are some other things I can do to work on my waist.
  • I enter the OSU alumni football ticket lottery every year so I can get tickets to one home football game.  It’s not official, but it looks like I got the Michigan game!  If this is true–and I keep trying to log onto the official site to make sure–it will be incredible.  I remember telling G after the 2004 game, well, this will be our last time at this game.  It would be amazing to get these tickets.
  • Went to M’s baseball game today.  I didn’t think she’d ever be interested in playing a sport, so I’m glad that one, she was the one who brought up playing baseball this summer, and two, she’s loving it.  It’s great to see her trying something new and having a blast.  I’m also proud of her for doing it even though she’s one of only two girls on her team.
  • I love these new pretzel M&Ms.  They combine everything I love best about food: chocolate, salt, and crunch.  Best of all, one bag is only three points, so I can eat them and not feel too guilty.
  • The writing has been going fairly well this week.  Need to hit it hard tomorrow so I can enjoy the weekend more.
  • G and I finally saw Precious last night.  It was amazing!  G was not that into the idea of watching it (he thought it was going to be super-depressing),  but he ended up loving it, too.  Yes, it certainly had dark themes, but it also had a lot of hope and even humor at times.  We both really enjoyed it.
  • How crazy was Alex Wong last night?!
  • I’m reading the new Stephanie Plum book, Sizzling Sixteen.  I lucked out:  a copy had come into the library, and the librarian was nice enough to go to the basement and get it out of the reshelving area for me.
  • I read the new Sookie Stackhouse book, Dead in the Family, last week.  I’ve been having great luck finding high-demand books at the library lately!
